MICHELLE MENDEZ

Michelle Mendez’s life was honored and remembered at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, Texas, with a visitation on Monday, September 19, 2022, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with the funeral service followed on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Terry Bage officiating. She was laid to eternal rest at the Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell following the service.

Michelle Renee Mendez was born January 31, 1966, in Houston, Texas, to Lloyd and Lucille Streetman. Michelle and her family moved to Caldwell, Texas, when she was a child, and lived here for the remainder of her beautiful life.

Michelle attended Caldwell High School and graduated in 1984.

After high school, Michelle started her career serving Caldwell ISD and later retired from Texas A&M University after 30 years of service.

Michelle and Victor met and started dating in September of 1994 at the Kolache Festival in Caldwell. After 2 years of blissful dating, Victor and Michelle married on October 12, 1996, and raised three beautiful daughters.

Michelle always lived life to the fullest. She loved the beach, her family, friends, and most of all, her soul mate, Victor. Anyone who knew Michelle knew she had the kindest heart and never told her friends or family “no” when they asked for help.

She was often the life of the party, and you could always count on her to have the brightest smile in the room.

Michelle is preceded in death by her father and mother, Lloyd and Lucille Streetman, brothers Randy (Wheelchair) Streetman and Darrell Streetman, father-inlaw, Victor Mendez Sr., and brothers-in-law, Bert Fuller, Phil Aaron, and Natividad (Ned) Mendez.

Michelle is survived by her loving husband and soul mate, Victor Mendez, daughters, Chelsey Petty and husband, Kevin, Casey Paulin and husband, Eric, Makenzie Mendez and Colin Highfill, grandchildren, Kimmie and Kevin Petty, siblings, Karen Barker and husband, Ron, Paula Gilmore and husband, Gary, Sharon Fuller, Mark Streetman and wife, Martha, her mother-inlaw, Lola Mendez, her seven sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless extended family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Eric Paulin, Colin Highfill, Kevin Petty, Russ McKinney, Casey Moore, Jesse Sherlock, Rance Norman and Thirman Dimery.

Honorary pallbearers were Elwood Hieden, Paul Mendez, Weldon Coker, Larry Brinkman, Mark Streetman, Lanny Pipkin, Ron Barker, Gary Gilmore and Jeff Hovis.

In lieu of donations, the family asks that you honor and remember the life of Michelle by always sharing stories of her with your friends and family and never forgetting the lasting impression she made and the countless lives she impacted.
