Carolyn Urbanovsky passed away on November 26, 2022.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat.
Carolyn was born to Ralph and Willie Mae Mowbray on September 9, 1948, in Taylor, Texas.
After her birth, the family moved to Oceanside, California. She graduated in 1966 from Eisenhower High School in Rialto, California. After graduating she went to cosmetology college and worked as a beautician.
On March 4, 1972, she married the love of her life, Bobby Urbanovsky.
That same year, they moved to Austin while her husband, Bobby, trained at DPS. A year later they moved to Houston and lived there for seven years. In 1979, they moved back to Austin where they lived for 32 years, and where she raised her two sons, Jason and Nick Urbanovsky.
She was a devoted Catholic and member at St. Albert The Great Catholic Church in Austin.
She worked at a school and daycare for several years in Austin.
In 2012, they moved to Lyons where they built a new home and enjoyed the country life.
On March 4, 2022, was their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Carolyn enjoyed bowling and was on a team for many years. She loved gardening, Jazzercise, crocheting, traveling, fishing, camping and was a wonderful cook. She loved watching the Houston Astros and enjoyed spending time with family, friends and her dog Tucker.
She was a current member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Mowbray; and brother, Dennis Mowbray.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Urbanovsky; her two sons, Jason Urbanovsky and wife, Belinda, and Nick Urbanovsky and wife, Erica. She has three grandchildren, Jacob, Denzel, and Ava. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Morris and her husband, Bill; sister in-law, Sherri Mowbray; and her mother, Willie Mae Mowbray. She has three nieces; and four nephews.
