LUCILE DOCKERY

Lucile Helen Dockery, 94, of Bryan, Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at home with her family by her side.

A public visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on December 9, 2022, in the chapel at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on December 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Deanville.

Lucile was born on September 27, 1928, to John and Helen Kocurek (Luedke) in Deanville, Texas. She was one of five siblings.

Lucile graduated from Caldwell High School in 1946.

She met her future husband Raymond B. Dockery, at the International Furniture Factory in Bryan, Texas, where she was a seamstress and he worked in upholstery.

They married on November 18, 1949. To this union came four children: Deborah, Daphine, Raymond Boyce, and Glen.

Lucile had many jobs in her lifetime from picking cotton to a newspaper route. The position she held for the longest time was as an upholstery seamstress at Dockery Upholstery where she worked until her retirement at age 82.

Lucile loved to quilt, knit and crochet and she was an excellent seamstress.

She was a member of several local bowling leagues and won many trophies.

Lucile liked to fish and loved dancing at the Deanville Hall.

Lucile was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Deanville, Texas, and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in College Station. Her family is grateful for her life and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ and to her family. She was and will continue to guide us always. Lucile will be missed dearly by her friends and her family, her love will be forever cherished.

Lucile was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond B. Dockery; sister, Clara Poehl; brothers, Calvin and Johnny Kocurek; son, Raymond Boyce Dockery; and great-grandson, Jack Chandler Hughes.

She is survived by her sister, Maxine Boedeker and her husband, Wayne; her sister-inlaw, Wynona Kocurek; her children, Deborah English and her companion, Rick Snyder, Daphine Dockery, and brother, Glen Dockery and his companion, Willie Ann James. She is also survived by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, her many angels.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and nurses with Traditions Hospice for taking such wonderful care of our dear Lucile in her last days with us. You are truly a blessing.
