GlennAllen Lewis passed away on May 30, 2023, in Temple, Texas.
His visitation was held on Thursday June 1, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
The Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Friday June 2, 2023, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Burial followed the service at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville.
Glenn was born on December 14, 1954, in Brenham, Texas, to parents, Harold and Lottie (Schluens) Lewis.
He married the love of his life, Barbara (Collins) Lewis, on November 10, 1973, in Somerville, Texas. Together they were blessed with 2 children, Chad and Lauren Lewis.
Glenn loved his family, spending time with them is what he loved most during the holidays.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, playing left right center game, going to the livestock shows and watching the grandchildren play softball.
He never missed a game or anything the grandchildren were involved in. Glenn (Poppy) loved working his land and taking his grandchildren rides on the land.
Glenn loved traveling to Fredericksburg, and he was very proud of what his family had accomplished.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John E. Lewis; brothersin- law, Larry Weichert and Dale Schoenberg; his sisterin- law, Cathy Hanley; his in-laws, Helen and James Bryant.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Barbara Lewis; his son, Chad and wife,Aimee Lewis; his daughter, Lauren Lewis; his bonus son, Waylon and wife, Amber Edwards; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Weichert; and longtime companion, Danny Barr; his two grandchildren, Macee and Madelyn Lewis. Glenn is also survived by his brother, Harold Lewis Jr.; sisters, Gingey Lee, Carol Brinkman, Brenda Schoenberg, and Teresa Hargrove; and brothers-in-law, Sammy Brinkman and Guy Hargrove.
Pallbearers included Harold Lewis Jr., Chad Lewis, Waylon Edwards, Justin Lewis, Dennis Gaas, Ronnie Knesek, and John Moore.
