Glen Alan Rathjen passed away on July 23, 2023.
A visitation was held on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 6-8 p.m.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat.
Glen Rathjen was born on May 10, 1967, to Alphine and Annie Rathjen.
He graduated from UTI in Houston in July of 1987, to become a certified auto mechanic.
He worked many years as a mechanic on many projects. If you broke it, he could fix it.
Glen was a rancher and took up hay baling and enjoyed riding the fields in his blue Ford tractor, making countless bales of hay.
To relax he would pull out the old fishing pole and try out some tournaments around. But his all-time favorite was the Dallas Cowboys and “Do Not Disturb” during the game.
Glen is survived by his son, Garrett Rathjen and wife, Kaitlyn; his 3 grandchildren, Kayleighann, Reeson, and Collier of Premont, Texas; his sister, Virginia Sowders of Caldwell; his two brothers, Darrell Rathjen and wife, Nola, and Darwon Rathjen and wife, Connie, all from Caldwell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents,Alphine and Annie Rathjen; a nephew, Jordan Blake Rathjen; his brother-in-law, William Sowders; and the love of his life, Kathleen Mynar.
Pallbearers included Garrett Rathjen, Alan Rathjen, Billy Sowders, Trevor Rathjen, Austin Rathjen, and Jeremy Krueger.
