Mozelle M. Maddox Marek Huddleston, 86, of Chriesman, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
A public visitation at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home on SaturdayAugust 19, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.
Funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel. John Hall of the BCS church of Christ will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery, in Caldwell.
Mozelle M. (Maddox) Marek Huddleston was born on September 22, 1936, the daughter of Charlie W. Maddox and Eunice (Autrey) Maddox, Caldwell, Texas. She was one of two siblings.
She attended Second Creek School and Caldwell High School.
She met Milton H. Marek of Chriesman, and they married on February 27, 1954, in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas. To this union came three children: Valerie, Richard, and Sandra.
She had several hobbies including quilting, sewing, painting, and other homemade crafts. She also enjoyed playing 42.
She was a descendant of Stephen F. Austin’s Colony ‘Old Three Hundred’ Elijah P Allcorn settled in Independence and Brenham naming the creek New Year’s Creek in 1821; descendant of Stephen F. Austin’s Colony of 1828 Captain Joseph Bell Chance of Old Washington; descendant of Lewis Autrey who came to Burleson County in 1834.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton; second husband, Curtis; sister, Kathleen; her daughter, Sandra; and her grandson, Joseph.
Survivors include her son, Richard and daughter- in-law, Carolyn, their sons, Jason, Andrew, Evan and wife, Kate; great-grandchildren, Zoey andArthur. Her daughter, Valerie, and her children, Matthew, William, and Winona; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Sora, Orion, Xzander, and Dusty. Her brother, Charles W Maddox and niece,Amanda and husband, Mark, and children, Taylar and Blake; nephew, George Maddox and son, Wyatt. And many cousins.
