Our beloved Joy Jackson Rogers, 50 years old, of Caldwell (Burleson County), Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday evening, September 3, 2023. Her husband, Les Rogers, was with her, never leaving her side in addition to being surrounded by her Family, Pastor Juan Fraustro and Pastor Polly Standing.
A Celebration of Joy’s Life was held at Caldwell First Assembly, 107 S. Temple Street, Caldwell, Texas 77836, on Saturday September 9, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with the Pastor Juan Fraustro leading the celebration.
Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home of Caldwell coordinated all arrangements for the family.
Joy was born May 13, 1973, in Abilene, Texas, to Tommy and Katherine Jackson, whom she loved dearly.
On March 31, 2006, she married the love of her life, Les Rogers, and together they have three children, Thomas of Abilene, Sum-mer of College Station, and Haden living with them at home.
Joy loved the Lord and was very active in ministry. Joy was a faithful member, leader and founder of ONE Church Caldwell and leader in Brazos Valley Emmaus.
Joy’s faith and devotion to her family and friends knew no bounds. She was a loving mother and cherished friend, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.
Joy began serving as the Executive Director of the Cross Roads Christian Retreat Center in Caldwell, Texas, on February 28, 2020. She was a prime example of being the hands and feet of Christ in everything she touched or was involved in. She brought joy to all who knew her, and her real love and passion was to spoil people on behalf of Christ.
Her latest passion is for the kids of Caldwell Theatre, where she was actively establishing this program’s very first Booster Club, setting them up as a nonprofit status and becoming the very first President. She had been consumed with trying to set up fundraising and public support for the Caldwell High and Junior High’s Theatre program. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, please send monetary donations to Caldwell Theatre Booster Club in memory of Joy Rogers, their “Drama Momma.”
Joy was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Jackson; her grandparents, Frank Jackson, Annie Jackson, Roy Hunnicutt, and Linda Hunnicutt; her brother-in-law, Michael Like; and her nephew, Jackson Anderson.
Joy leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her husband, Les Rogers; son, Thomas Garrett; daughter, Sumer Poniatowski; son, Haden Rogers; her parents, Tommy and Katherine Jackson; her father-in-law and motherin- law, Jimmy and Claudia Rogers; her sisters, Susie Like, Tommie Jo Peterson, and Teresa Borcik; her brother, Robert Jackson; her sister-inlaw, Diane Jackson; her brothers-in-law, Mark Peterson, Alan Rogers, and Dean Borcik; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Joy will forever be remembered for her loving heart, her unwavering dedication to family and her zest for life. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her and will be deeply missed by all.
Our family would like to thank the amazing staff of Baylor Scott & White College Station hospital. We will forever be grateful to all the critical care teams. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your care and compassion.
