Funeral Service for Billy Wayne Dodson, of Somerville, Texas, was held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1933, in Wink, Texas.
From the early age of 17, Billy embarked on a fulfilling career in the oilfield industry.
Beyond his professional career, Billy was known as “Mr. Fix-It” in Somerville.
One of the most cherished aspects of Billy’s life was his faith and devotion to God.
He shared countless moments of laughter and music with his late wife, Myrna Dodson. The couple loved karaoke.
Billy served as an aviation instructor and mechanic during his time enlisted in the U.S. Airforce.
Billy’s impact extended far beyond his achievements. It was his warm and caring personality that touched the lives of many. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and countless cherished memories.
He died on Sept. 14, 2023, at St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan. He is survived by three children and their spouses; 11 grandchildren; 28 greatgrandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
