Celebration of Life for James Dwayne “Bubba” McKay, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at One Church Caldwell, 104 Texas Highway 21, Caldwell, Texas 77836.
He was born on February 26, 1979, in Bryan, Texas, and left this earth on September 7, 2023, in Caldwell, Texas, at 44 years old.
He will forever be known for his sense of humor, his love for his family and friends and having a big heart for people.
Bubba was born to his mother, Ruby McKay, and father, James McKay, on February 26, 1979.
He collected baseball cards, enjoyed fishing, listening to music, playing video games, spending time with his friends, talking about Sasquatch, painting, making people laugh and looking at the bright side.
He had a love for animals, especially his four dogs -- Coco, Banjo, Little Bit and Rustie May.
Growing up, he excelled at sports and played baseball, basketball and football. He was the first 13-year-old selected as an All Star in Hearne, Texas.
He had a love for Hot Wheels as a child and even won first place for a yellow model car he put together at the Robertson County Fair.
Though he loved spending time with his dad and all of his friends and family, Bubba was a mama’s boy. She was his closest friend who almost never left his side, up to his last breath. Their bond was a testament to the power of unconditional love.
