Jason Scott Blackmon

Jason Scott Blackmon went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 14, 2023.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Phillip & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

A graveside tribute will be held at the Lexington Cemetery at a later date. Jason was born to Wilfred Gail and Carolyn Jean Blackmon on August 2, 1974, at St. David’s Hospital in Austin, Texas.

He lived most of his life in Lexington, Texas, where he graduated from Lexington High School in 1993.

After high school, Jason attended North Texas Job Corp in McKinney, Texas, and was certified as a Nurses Aide. He held several jobs through the years at several locations.

Jason had a strong love for football, especially the Lexington Eagles and Texas Longhorns. He attended as many Eagle football games as he could.

He was an avid reader and always had a book in hand wherever he went.

As a child, Jason attended the First Baptist Church and later joined the Catholic Church in Lexington.

He was a member of the Post Oak Island Lodge Number 181 in Beaukiss, Texas.

Jason was also very active in the NA organization in Caldwell.

He loved to be around people, especially his nieces and nephews.

Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn

Jean Wilson Blackmon; sister, Gayla Jean Blackmon; grandparents, Floyd and Mildred Blackmon, and Cecil and Merle Wilson.

He is survived by his father, Wilfred Gail Blackmon; stepmother, Doris Blackmon of Caldwell Texas; sister, Dana Rasco; nieces, Kendall Blackmon and Brighton Rasco; nephew, Kadin Rasco of Houston, Texas; as well as his extended family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all his friends in Lexington and in Caldwell for spending time with him over the years. He cherished your friendship and kindness. Jason will always be remembered lovingly for his kindness and caring heart.
