JIMMIE LAFFERE

Jimmie Laffere, 90, of Deanville, Texas, passed away on October 25, 2023.

A public visitation was held to honor his life on Sunday, October 29, 2023, followed by a Funeral Service in the chapel at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in wife, Hattie Laffere; his son, Jimmie Lee Laffere; his brothers, Elo Laffere, Milton “Pete” Laffere and Marvin Laffere; and his sisters, Hilda Prazak, Madelyn Pavlas, Margaret Atkinson and Birdie Jester.

Jimmie is survived by his son, John Laffere; his daughter, Sharon Laffere Ehlert and husband, Albert; granddaughter, Christan Cruz and husband, Justin; greatgrandchildren, Justin, Elijah, and Moriah Cruz; brother-in-law, Bernard Pivonka; sisters-in-law, LaVerne Pivonka and Catherine Pivonka; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Interment was held at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Frenstat.

Pallbearers were Larry Dworsky, Jacob Johnson, Travis Johnson, Joseph Ofczarak, Mark Stanek, Jason Williford.

Jimmie was born to Elo and Bertha (Dworsky) Laffere on April 1, 1933.

He was a land surveyor, farmer, and rancher. He loved the land, his friends and family.

Jimmie was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Deanville VFD and Deanville Hermann Sons.

He was a talented guitar player who performed for numerous local charities and fundraisers.

He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
