Clara Bernice Cloughly Doerr of Morgan’s Point Resort was called to Our Lord and Savior on January 3, 2025, after a long illness.
Clara was born March 28, 1953.
Clara was pre-deceased by her father, Lieutenant Colonel Cecil Pershing Cloughly; her mother, Mary Lee Cloughly; and her infant brother, Orval John Cloughly, II.
Clara is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Ronnie Lynn Doerr; sisters, Dorothy Irene Baggett, Cecilia Louise Cloughly and husband, Frank R. Stott; and sisterin- law, Janie Ruth Kollman. Clara is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Clara worked as a teacher at Saint Mary’s School in Taylor, and as a revenue processor for the Texas State Comptroller teaching temporary workers how to process state taxes.
Clara’s hobbies included maintaining a Family Tree where she recorded over 117,000 close family members and distant relatives.
Clara enjoyed collecting dolls, gnomes, and George Shultz Peanuts collectables.
Clara enjoyed traveling to Colorado, camping and fishing.
Clara enjoyed watching sports on television, especially watching University of Texas Football with her husband, Ronnie.
