Mary Helen Elkins-Pope, longtime resident of Caldwell, Burleson County, was born on June 3, 1956, to Robert D. Elkins and Betty J. McWhorter.
She passed away on March 16, 2025, at 5:10 a.m. in Bryan.
She was preceded in death by her son, Harold “DJ” Elkins; father, Robert D. Elkins; mother, Betty J. McWhorter; and brothers, Michael E. “Mike” Moffett and Harold D. “Bubba” Winslow.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary J. Hayden and son-in-law, Chris Hayden of Somerville; sister, Alva J. “Jean” Elkins of Mississippi; grandsons, Juan Rubio of Caldwell, Dalvin Rubio and wife, Shyanne Rubio of Waco, Danny Rubio of Abilene; granddaughterin- law, Myranda Hayden and fiancé, Alexander Harp, of Bryan; niece and nephew-in-law, Betty and Greg Mummert and daughter, Angelina Elkins (great-niece) all of Luling.
