Richard Lee Boyd

Richard Lee Boyd crossed over the creek bed to his heavenly mansion on April 21, 2026.

He was born in Hammond, to Levi and Mary Jane Boyd.

Together with Shirley Martin Lange he moved to Hearne and started a family.

During his last 40 years he created a home and many memories in Milano.

He was the owner of Richard Boyd Construction and was blessed with an undeniable gift of construction and roofing. His reputation and legacy will live on through the work he did the 50 years he was in business,

and through those he mentored and taught.

Richard was known from state to state for being a World Champion Coon Hunter. He spent countless hours in the woods with those who became like family to him.

He also made many lifelong friends sitting around a card table where he prided himself in being able to call a bluff… Those that knew him knew if he drew an 8,6 it was time to fold. He was born a winner!

We can’t leave out his great love for the ladies; he never lost his ability to flirt or his desire to go on a date.

He loved Bremond Football and Texas Longhorns. He was a true diehard fan of both.

He enjoyed country music and could yodel with the best of ‘em.

He will be treeing the biggest coons, building beautiful mansions, and drawing a winning hand at every table he sits at… When the time comes he will be waiting to carry his loved ones across the creeks and hollers to their heavenly homes with Jesus.

The best hand he was ever dealt was his 5 daughters, Denise, Tami, Becky, Gina, Brandy!

Through them a family was built. He gained sons that he helped mold into men.

He was Paw Boyd to 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

He and his siblings were raised and tended fields at the Old Place in Hammond.

His earthly body will be laid to rest at Gause Cemetery. His children find it a great honor that their parents lay together waiting on Jesus’ return.
