A memorial service for Janice Marie Marvel-Franks, 68, of Caldwell, will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at Burleson County Cowboy Church near Caldwell.
Mrs. Franks died on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, close to family in Paducah, Ky.
Janice was born on July 12, 1952, in Crowder, Mo., to Alma Gilliam and James Everett Marvel.
She married James Alan Franks of Caldwell on June 15, 2008.
She enjoyed playing karaoke music and dominoes, and being with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She had the ability to make everyone around her feel very loved and special, family said.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Marvel and Alma Gilliam; her brother, James Marvel; and her first husband, Randy Gene Smith Sr.
Janice is survived by her husband, James Alan Franks of Caldwell; her sons, Randy Smith and wife, Robin, and Rob Smith and wife, Tammy; her daughters, Angela Umfleet and husband, Justin, Brandy Letterman and husband, Brian, and Sam Franks; her sister, Joyce Ragsdale; her brother, Kenny Gilliam; 15 grandchildren; and 15 greatgrandchildren.
