A Mass of Christian Burial for Cayetano Martinez Jr., fondly known as “Junior,” 48, of Caldwell, was held from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Caldwell. Rosary was recited at 9:30 a.m.
A public visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, in the chapel of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Mr. Martinez died on Friday, March 19, 2021.
Cayetano was born on May 22, 1972, in La Hincada Guadalcazar, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Cayetano Martinez, Sr. and Juana Requena.
His family migrated to the United States when he was just 6 years old.
Cayetano was a hardworking man who loved his family dearly.
He worked many years in the oilfield, but even though he made good money in that profession, spending time with his family was much more important to him.
He loved working with people, so he took on a job at a tire company to spend more time with his family.
Cayetano loved to hunt, fish, weld and do mechanic work.
All who knew him, will remember him as a dedicated family man, faithful friend and a man who adored ranching and horses.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cayetano Martinez Sr.
Cayetano is survived by his wife, Aurelia Balleza Martinez; his mother, Juana Requena; his sons, Cayetano Martinez III and Adan Martinez; his daughters, Maria Guadalupe Martinez, Eva Martinez, and Elisa Martinez; his brothers, Anastacio Martinez and wife, Sandra Ponce, and Juan Martinez, and wife, Perla Olvera; and his sisters, Angela Calderon and husband, Reymundo, Consuelo Martinez and husband, Juan Carlos Roman, Ricarda Martinez, and Nensi Granadas and husband, Ismael, all of Caldwell.
