Funeral services for Billy Ray Roehling, 60, were held on Friday, April 30, 2021, at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville, with Pastor Skip Stutts officiating.
Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville.
Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Strickland Funeral Home.
Mr. Roehling died on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, in Houston.
Billy was born on June 1, 1960, in Houston to Marvin “Monk” and Leona “Sis” (Mantey) Roehling.
Billy was baptized and confirmed at the Advent Lutheran Church in Houston.
He attended school at Jersey Village where he graduated in 1978.
Billy worked at NCI-Cornerstone Building Brands for 20 years where he served as production manager. Billy was very dedicated to his job and enjoyed working there
When Billy was not at work, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed going on hunting trips to Fredericksburg with family.
In addition to hunting and fishing, he enjoyed gardening where he was able to grow many things, but he was very meticulous when it came to growing his dill.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gustav and Elvira “Ella” (Drews) Roehling, and Steve and Lydia (Haarmeyer) Mantey; his parents, Marvin “Monk” and Leona “Sis” (Mantey) Roehling.
Billy is survived by brothers, Ronnie and Rebecca Roehling of Cypress, and Marvin and Debbie Roehling of Brenham; his nieces and nephews, Ryan Roehling, Brett and Maci Roehling, Russell Roehling, Rachel and Brian Adams, and Jon and Michelle Hodde; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brenlee Roehling, Conway and Leona Adams, and Elliott Hodde.
Pallbearers were Ryan Roehling, Brett Roehling, Russell Roehling, Brian Adams, Jon Hodde, and Donald “Bubba” Mantey.
