MARTHA BOHACEK

A public visitation for Martha Bohacek, 90, of Houston was held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat from 10-11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, June 16, followed by a Rosary at 11:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass at noon.

Mrs. Bohacek died on Tuesday June 8, 2021.

Martha worked at Jessup Elementary in the cafeteria and was a homemaker for her two children, Johnny and Raymond. After she retired, she spent her days with her granddaughter Melanie.

Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, baking, going to church and spending time with her family.

Martha was a member of Saint Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Houston.

Some of her family’s favorite memories include her homemade kolaches, and picking and cracking pecans for hours.

She loved getting updates from all the distant, extended family with pictures and cards they sent her, sitting outside after a homemade meal and enjoying the company of family and admiring her beautiful gardens of lilies, roses, gardenias and her granddaughters favorite, camelia trees.

Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners were the best! The best memories of family times with her were spent playing dominoes and card games for hours together.

She loved her family and would tell the best stories of all the memories of her brother and sisters, her husband, John, and two sons.

Family and friends would describe her as one of the most God loving, kindest, generous, caring, strongest and sweetest woman they have ever met.

Martha’s loving heart is the thing that will be remembered the most. She loved to laugh and was always smiling and full of joy. She always said, “laughter is the best medicine.”

Family members are thankful for that sure hope of resurrection from the dead, through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, and they are greatly looking forward to seeing her in heaven.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Proverbs 31:25

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Carrie Knesek; husband, John Bohacek; brothers, John, Ernest, Willie, Eddie, and Louis Knesek; sisters, Margaret Krueger, Lydia Bohacek, Annie Kubelka, and Angeline Tschoerner.

She is survived by her sons, Johnny David, as well as Raymond Bohacek and his wife, Julie; granddaughter, Melanie Bohacek; and greatgrandchildren, Ethan and Dylan.
