Margaret “Margie” Kostelka, 91, of Caldwell, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at the Burleson St. Joseph Manor where she had been living since September of 2016.
A public visitation was held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.
A Funeral Mass was held in her honor on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dime Box, Texas, followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Dime Box. Father Ramon Frayna and Father Joy Adimakkeel officiated.
Margie was born on September 24, 1929, in Burleson County to Joe and Carrie Provazek Blinka. She married Frank J. Kostelka, Jr. on October 8, 1947. They made their home together in Burleson County.
Margie worked at Kellar Chairs for many years as well as Circle Z, Boyd’s Quick Stop and KC Quick Stop in Old Dime Box. Her best jobs were when she was a cook at the Learning Station and Blessings From Above Day Cares. She loved all of the children, treated them as her own and gave them many treats.
Some of her family’s favorite memories of her are making candy at Christmas. She made the best homemade chicken and dumplings with homemade noodles and her famous ranger cookies. Margie loved spending time with her family and listening to music by Willie Nelson.
Margie is preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Kostelka, Jr., parents, Joe and Carrie Blinka and her sister, Agnes Cervenka.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Urbanovsky and her husband, Ron, of Deanville, Floyd Kostelka and wife, Debbie, of Dime Box and Jalane Wiederhold and husband, Dwane, also of Deanville; sister, Willie Mae Mowbray of Deanville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dwayne Urbanovsky and his wife, Debra, of Georgetown, Jennifer Watts and her husband, Trent, of Austin, Lamanda Jatzlau and her husband, Adam, of College Station, Justin Wiederhold and his wife, Krystal, of Weatherford, Brandy Christiansen of Bastrop, Robin Mock and her husband, William, of Plantersville. Greatgrandchildren include, Kyle and Kristen Urbanvosky, Taylor and Morgan Watts, Tristan and Chelsea Jatzlau, Alyssa, Brooke and Camryn Wiederhold, Adalyn Christiansen, Jena and Leah Mock.
Margie’s grandsons and great-grandson honored her as pallbearers.
