Edward “Buddy” Telschow

A Celebration of Life for Edward “Buddy” Telschow, 90, of Caldwell, service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at Elizabeth Lutheran Church with Pastor Terry Bage officiating.

Burial followed at Macedonia-Hix Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Mr. Telschow died peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, at home with family by his side.

Buddy was born on May 19, 1931, in Houston to Alvin F. Telschow and Letha Telschow. He was one of two siblings.

Buddy met Shirley Kasper in Houston, and they were married on Aug. 30, 1963, in Houston.

Buddy and Shirley raised five children, Wayde Marshall, Junior Telschow, David Telschow, Michael Telschow, and Chris Telschow.

He served in theU.S. Army from 1952-1954 at which time he was honorably discharged.

Buddy worked as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1985.

He enjoyed riding and training his horses and won many saddles, spurs, buckles and trophies that he was very proud of.

He always enjoyed working on his ranch, raising cattle, making hay, etc.

His most enjoyed time was going dancing with his best partner, Shirley.

In the winter months he could always be found not far from one of his many wood stoves keeping warm.

He was a member of Elizabeth Lutheran Church since 1993.

Buddy was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and fast pace dancing with the love of his life, Shirley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin F. Telschow and Letha Telschow; his brother, Floyd Telschow; and his son, David Telschow.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Telschow; his son, Wayde Marshall and wife, Lucille, of Houston, Junior Telschow and wife, Darla, of Magnolia, Michael Telschow of Tomball, and Chris Telschow of Tomball; and six grandchildren, Brandon Telschow and wife, Ashlee, of Caldwell, Misty Telschow and husband, Stephen Lewis, of Waller, Jared Mathis of Caldwell, Misty Lee and husband, Tommy, of Caldwell, Shane Telschow of Tomball, and Chris Telschow Jr. of Tomball.

In addition to flowers, donations may be made to Elizabeth Lutheran Church.
