A viewing for Herman Lee Nelson Jr., 67, of Caldwell will be held at 10 a.m., with funeral services to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Caldwell First Assembly in Caldwell.
Burial will follow at Shiloh Community Cemetery.
Mr. Nelson died on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.
Herman was born on Dec. 21, 1953, in Hearne.
He attended school in Caldwell from kindergarten through 12th-grade, where he met his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Ella Nelson.
He attended Abilene Christian University, where he played football for the mighty Wildcats!
He was a beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather.
He had a true passion for serving others and spreading the Gospel of Christ.
If you truly knew him, you knew that he loved the Lord, his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren endlessly. He is already dearly missed by so many.
Herman is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ella Nelson, of Caldwell; his sons, Bryant Nelson and wife, VaRina, of Somerville, and Byron Nelson and wife, Arecia, of Katy; his daughter Brooke Burns of Huntsville; and six grandchildren, DeMarion, Byron Jr., Darren, Bailey, Dean, and Layla, who will be able to carry Paw-Paw’s legacy on for decades to come!
