Betty Clark Doughtie, 90, was born June 21, 1931, to Willam and Lyra Clark of Dallas, Texas, and passed December 20, 2021.
Betty was raised at Buckner Baptist children’s home along with her three siblings due to the tragic loss of both parents while she was still an infant.
After graduating high school, Betty began a career on public relations and advertising.
In 1949, she married and moved to San Diego, California, where she had her three children.
In 1966, Betty and her family relocated to the Houston area where she continued a rewarding career and community involvement.
In 1995, Betty and her husband, Buddy, both retired and moved to their farm in Deanville, Texas, where she enjoyed gardening, sitting on the porch swing, reading and traveling the backroads of Texas as well as redoing their farmhouse.
She was a faithful, longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Caldwell where she made many cherished friendships.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Doughtie; and her three siblings.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Ritz, and Beverly Miller; son, Scott Bazinet; six grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren.
A service of remembrance and celebration of her life will be held March 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Caldwell.
