Somerville, Snook players earn All-District honors

Seven Somerville High School baseball players and six Snook High School players were named to the All-District 26-2A Team.Named to the first team were Somerville seniors Kyle Brooks in the outfield and Colt Holton as a utility player, and Snook senior Gabe Lacaze, also as utility player.

With the start of summer vacation comes the start of the Little League All-Star season.And, the county’s 8U softball team has already completed pool play at the Texas East District 13 Little League’s 8U softball tournament which is being held in Schulenburg.

Somerville’s Vela flies high as State Champ...again!

Somerville’s Jeremy Vela competed in the Class 2A boys high jump on Friday at the University Interscholastic League’s (UIL) State Track & Field Championships in Austin for the second year in a row. And, for the second year in a row, he brought the high jump title home to the Yegua Nation.
