Last Friday, about 400 Caldwell Junior High students and staff went out into the Caldwell community to polish silver, clean and weed yards, wash windows and many more odd jobs -- all to give back to the Caldwell community during the school’s annual “Big Event.” Parent volunteers also participated in the event, and together they completed 29 job sites, ranging from private residences, nursing homes, community buildings and local city sites. CJH Science teacher Karlin Wilson, one of the event organizers, said, “Big Event has grown so much in the past eight years.” “Here at Caldwell Junior High, we strive to not only meet the community’s needs but also encourage civic engagement so that these young adults can be advocates of positive change and be more engaged citizens in the town they are growing up in and love.
