A Mass of Christian Burial for Don Edward Seibert, was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 122 Ash Street in Lewiston, Maine.
Don was born on Jan. 18, 1947, in Bryan, Texas, to Casper Louis Seibert and Annie Gussie (Kaiser) Seibert.
He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1965.
Don proudly served in the Navy. He was stationed in many places but especially enjoyed being in Sicily. Don’s last station was Brunswick, which brought him to Maine.
He loved the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking and camping.
He was a licensed plumber but spent most of his years working at Bath Iron Works as a pipe fitter and designer.
He opened D&J’s Texas Style BBQ in the early fall of 2004 with his son, Thomas.
Don’s favorite pastime was being with his family.
He loved to travel with his wife, Joan.
He died on Jan. 17, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Joan Cote Seibert; one son; one daughter-inlaw; one stepson; one stepdaughter-in-law; one stepdaughter; one stepson-inlaw; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; two sisters; one brother-in-law and wife; and many of his nephews and nieces.
