JEANETTE (FRIEDRICH) COKER

Jeanette (Friedrich) Coker, 88, of Caldwell, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025.

Jeanette was born in Holland, Texas, to Mabel and Herbert Friedrich on January 17, 1937.

She married the love of her life, Leland Coker, on November 3, 1956, and together they made their home in Caldwell beginning in January 1957.

Jeanette devoted many years to being a loving homemaker.

She was active in her children’s lives, helping with their 4-H projects, serving as a Cub Scout leader and cheering on her boys at the little league baseball games with her daughter by her side keeping score.

When her children were older she went to work at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home for many years. She then left her job to become a caregiver for her parents at their farm in Holland, Texas.

Three years ago, Jeanette and Leland moved into Copperas Hollow, where she quickly became an active part of the community and appointed herself as assistant to the Activity Director. She enjoyed doing puzzles and playing bingo and Skip-Bo.

Jeanette was known for her positive spirit, her smile and her laughter, qualities she carried with her even in her final days.

Jeanette enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking.

Her garden was one of her favorite places to spend time.

She and Leland loved to go dancing together and could often be found at local dances enjoying good music and good company.

One of her greatest joys was cheering on her granddaughters as they played volleyball for the Holland Hornets and the Caldwell Hornets.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Coker; her parents, Mabel and Herbert Friedrich; and two brothers, Raymond Friedrich and James Friedrich.

Jeanette is survived by her children, Tommy Coker, Leonard Coker and wife, Arleen, Cheryl Coker, and Weldon Coker and wife, Carol; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several great-greatgrandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Dustin Coker, Natalie DeWeese, Travis Morton, Ashley Easterwood, David Mendez, Taylor Pastrano and Ciara Coker.
