SHANE HAHNE

Shane Jeffrey Hahne passed away on May 16, 2026, in Bryan.

He was born on March 20, 1963, in Minot, North Dakota, to his parents, Robert and Carol Hahne.

He was four years old when he and his family moved to Texas.

He attended school in Seabrook, and later in Somerville, where he graduated high school in 1981.

After graduation, he worked for O’Malley & Clay Surveying.

In 1986, he joined the USMC. He proudly served until 1990 attaining the rank of Corporal.

After leaving the military, he resided in Houston. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston.

He married Kelly Ferguson in 1993, and, in 2002, their daughter Caitlyn was born.

Shane worked for Geico Insurance as a Field Adjustor until 2020, when he retired and moved to Bryan.

Shane enjoyed cooking and grilling, visiting with his family and friends and music.

Journey was his all-time favorite band, and he attended many of their concerts through the years.

Shane loved reliving the good old days, and he will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Shane was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers-in-law, Ed Dement, Mike Maxey and Dennis Stevens.

Shane is survived by his loving daughter, Caityln Hahne; his ex-wife, Kelly Hahne; sisters, Julie Strickland and husband, Jackie, and Jeannie Stevens; brothers, Mike Hahne and wife, Ester, and Dan Hahne and wife, Vickie. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and other family members.

Shane will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A family memorial will be planned at a later date.
