The Caldwell Hornets basketball team opened its season with a 65-48 home win over Rockdale on Friday.
Caldwell took control early with a 22-6 lead in the first quarter and led 41-22 at halftime. Caldwell led 52-34 at the end of the third quarter.
The Hornets stuck with a man defense throughout the game, and it worked well, Caldwell Head Coach Casey McDaniel said.
