RUBY KNESEK

A graveside service for Ruby Frances Knesek, 92, of the Harmony area will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at Allbright Cemetery near Harmony with Rev. Rick Mitchell offi ciating.

Visitation will be held from noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell with the family present from 4-7 p.m.

Mrs. Knesek died peacefully Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at her home.

Ruby was born on Oct. 9, 1928, in Benchley, Texas, to Joe Jurek and Frances (Kachtik) Jurek.

Ruby was a homemaker by trade but enjoyed many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed gardening and canning.

Ruby loved to cook, especially for her family. There was not a time that she didn’t have a meal prepared or could whip something up when you visited her.

Other hobbies included sewing, fi shing and cutting rocks. Ruby was a loving person and especially loved animals.

Mamaw Ruby, as she was known to her grandkids and great-grandkids, was the epitome of a grandmother, family members said. She absolutely loved and adored her grandkids and greatgrandkids. She had a hand in raising all of them and she would not have had it any other way.

Ruby was a Life Member of SPJST and Harmony Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Joe Paul Jurek, Albert Jurek, Dalmer Jurek, Nelton Benton, J.C. Benton, and John Benton; and her sister, Leola Gates.

Ruby is survived by her loving family, three sons, David Ray Knesek and wife, Brenda, of Caldwell, Charles Knesek of Deanville, and Leonard Knesek of Harmony; her sister, Anita Garner of Rockdale; four grandchildren, David Ashley Knesek and wife, Renee, Billie Ray Knesek and wife, Becky, Amber Owen and husband, Ivar, and Rachel Knesek; seven great-grandchildren, Trevor, Garrett, Logan and Macy Knesek, and Aaron, Casey and Addy Owen; and numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers are David Ashley Knesek, Billie Ray Knesek, Amber Owen, Rachel Knesek, Garrett Knesek, Macy Knesek, and Logan Knesek.

Honorary pallbearers are Trevor Knesek, Aaron Owen, Casey Owen, Addy Owen, Douglas Schoppe, Curtis Schoppe, Quincy Berka, Antone Schrader, Marvin Worthington and Rex Tyson.
