Funeral services were attended by family, friends, fire departments and first responders from Caldwell and surrounding counties on Saturday, May 29, 2021, with an outstanding show of love and a “Last Call.”
Clarence Sefcik was born in Caldwell, Texas, on September 10, 1964, to Clarence Joe Sefcik and Bessie Cecile (Glover) Sefcik.
Clarence was nicknamed “Booger” at a young age, and it stayed with him his whole life.
Booger graduated from Caldwell High School.
He enjoyed his Boy Scout years and was a beloved football coach.
Dominoes and playing cards were his favorite pastimes.
He was a member of the New Tabor Brethren Church.
Booger worked at Woodson Lumber doing Carpentry work, but his real passion was with the Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department. He had been a member since high school and spent most of his free time up at the station. The Fire Department became an important part of his family. He served with Fire and Rescue for 35 years and was at the time of his passing, was their training coordinator.
Booger was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Clarence Joe Sefcik; his mother, Bessie Cecile Sefcik; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his brother, Joe Turner Sefcik; his sister, Vanessa Sefcik Schneider and husband, Charles; a nephew, Christopher Schneider; step nieces and nephew, Rachael Wingo, Carissa Schneider, and Anthony Schneider; an aunt, Mildred Glover; numerous cousins and extended family.
Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department served as pallbearers and escorted him to his final resting place, but only after a final pass by his beloved Caldwell Fire Department.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his brothers at the Caldwell Fire Department and surrounding county first responders for your love and support during this most difficult time. Your friendship will forever be cherished. Thank you for your service.
