Somerville’s Vela qualifies for UIL state track meet...again

    Somerville’s Jeremy Vela has once again captured gold in the boys high jump this season -- this time at the UIL Class 2ARegion 4 Track & Field Meet.

    The regional track meet was held at Texas A&M-Kingsville last weekend.

    Vela jumped a height of 6 feet 3 inches to earn first place at regionals and a ticket to the state meet.
