She was born on October 30, 1924, to Joseph Ladislav Kroulik and Marie (Janecek) Krou-lik in Smithville, Texas.

Jo was active in St. Mary’s Women’s Club, and in the St. Mary’s Choir. One of her happiest days in the church was when she said, “Today I joined the choir.” She enjoyed the many songs she sang in the seasons of the church, giving thanks and praise.

She was always interested in what all her kids liked to do. She taught her grandchildren how to sew on her machine. If anyone needed a button put on or a patch she would fix it.

You could always depend on her to have strawberry shortcake and strawberries for dessert after Easter Sunday dinner.

In her last months she would perk up when her grandkids would come visit her.
