CHARLES KNESEK

Charles Edward Knesek, loving brother and uncle, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at the age of 67.

Visitation was held Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.

A graveside funeral service was held Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Allbright Cemetery in Harmony.

Charles, better known as Charlie, was born September 2, 1954, in Bryan, Texas, to Raymond Knesek and Ruby (Jurek) Knesek.

He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1972 and continued his education at Blinn College, graduating with an associates degree. After Blinn, he moved to Houston, Texas, where he worked in the sheet metal industry.

He returned to his hometown of Caldwell in the mid 1980s and ranched until he was hired at Burleson St. Joseph Hospital in the maintenance department where he worked until retirement.

He loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, canoeing, going hunting at the family ranch in Lometa and hanging out with his beloved black mouth cur dog, Buddy.

He also enjoyed cooking homemade chicken noodle soup and was well known for his potato salad, which everyone enjoyed.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his furson, Buddy; adopted son, Gerald (Jerry) Sbarbaro and wife, Kristina, and their daughters, Bella Brown, Carolena Sbarbaro, Addie Sbarbaro, and Josephine Sbarbaro; his brothers, David R. Knesek and wife, Brenda, and Leonard Knesek; nephews and nieces, David A. Knesek and wife, Renee, Billie R. Knesek and wife, Becky, Amber Owen and husband, Ivar, and Rachel R. Knesek; and greatnephews and nieces, Trevor Knesek, Macy Debault and husband, Preston, Garrett Knesek, Logan Knesek, Aaron Owen and wife, Miranda, Casey Owen, and Addy Owen.

Pallbearers were David A. Knesek, Billie R. Knesek, Douglas Schoppe, Curtis Schoppe, Roger Lee Erwin and William Rios.

Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Sbarbaro, Charlie Erwin, Curtis Poland, George Johnson, Coleman Wiederhold and the rest of his numerous friends and neighbors.
