Last week, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) hosted the 2023 State Track & Field Meet at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin.
Two area student-athletes qualified for the championship meet: Jae Mathis of Caldwell in the girls’ Class 4A long jump and Brandyn Carter of Somerville in the boys’ Class 2A triple jump.
