Cathy Lynn Christie was born on November 8, 1950, to parents, Hubert “Lamar” Christie and Margie Howry Christie in Bryan, Texas, and was one of two siblings, her sister, Pam Evans.

Cathy attended Caldwell High School, met the love of her life, Lee Demottier, and then graduated in 1969.

They were later married on April 24, 1970, at St. Anthony’s in Bryan, Texas. To this union came one child, Trey Demottier.

During Cathy’s life, she attended beauty school and became a hairdresser, but later found that she was allergic to the chemicals and sprays she was working with, and that is when she began her job at Sherwin Williams, where she was a dedicated employee for 45 years.

Cathy had many talents and interests to include singing in the choir, cooking, baking, and making special candies at Christmas time.

She also loved sewing and quilting, participating and judging in barbecue cookoffs and of course, watching her Astros.

Of all the many pasttimes, she was a huge supporter of drag racing, and was Trey’s biggest fan.

Even more than that, she was an even bigger fan of spoiling her granddaughter, Charlee.

As Cathy had such a full life, we are grateful for the sure hope of resurrection from the dead through faith in Jesus Christ, our Savior, and are greatly looking forward to seeing her in Heaven.

She was, and always will be, known for her giving heart and loving spirit. She was beloved by so many and will always be remembered as a charismatic, fun-loving lady who could make anyone laugh and make every situation fun. Her heart of gold and way of caring for those around her will be missed and forever cherished by all.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert “Lamar” Christie and Margie Howry Christie.

She is survived by her husband, Lee C. Demottier Jr. of Caldwell; her son, Trey Demottier of Caldwell; her granddaughter, Charlee Demottier Turner and husband, Zeathe Turner of Bryan; granddaughter Chelcee Goff; and greatgranddaughter, Tenille Rodriguez of Caldwell; her sister, Pam Evans and husband, Jerry Evans of Caldwell; her niece, Lesli Gomez and husband, Chris Gomez of Caldwell, and their children, Kyleigh and Kamryn; her niece, Lindsay Krueger and husband, Gary Krueger of Caldwell and their daughter, Alison.

The family wishes to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Joseph Regional Hospital CCU floor as well as the doctors, nurses and staff at Burleson St. Joseph Hospital. Special thanks to Jessica Lopez for always taking such good care of Cathy. To those who have prayed and reached out to the family with well wishes, your love is truly appreciated.
