Leroy was born on January 27, 1948, to Luke Frank Kazmir and Milady Vlasta Matcek Kazmir. He was one of three siblings.
LeroywasbaptizedatNew Tabor Brethren Church and was a faithful follower of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Leroy was a dedicated man of faith, although he was not the type of man to shout out his faith from the mountain tops. Leroy walked out his faith daily and was a true example of how a man of faith should live and lead his family to serve the Lord.
Leroy graduated from Caldwell High School.
After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and served the country he loved. He was a True American and taught his family to love and respect God and Country.
Upon his honorable dis-chargefromtheUnitedStates Army in July of 1969, as a Sergeant, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
Leroy returned to Burleson County and began his career at Texas A&M University in Facilities as a Utility Plant Operations Specialist.
HeretiredfromTexasA&M University in 2012 after 43 years of dedicated service.
In 1974 Leroy’s life was changed forever when he met the love of his life Cynthia Ann Engelmann.
Leroy and Cynthia met at a church revival service at New Tabor Brethren Church. He knew immediately that she was the love of his life.
Leroy and Cynthia were married on September 11, 1976.
Their love story, and their life of love and dedication to each other is so very beautiful: an example to others of how marriage should be. Leroy’s dedication and love for his beautiful bride grew stronger over the years.
Their vows were tested in 2014 when the love of his life suffered a massive stroke.
Over the last ten years Leroy stood faithful and strong by his bride, caring for her and ensuring that her every need was met.
Watching him love Cynthia so deeply was a true testament of what kind of man he truly was.
Strong, faithful, patient, loyal, dedicated, loving and compassionate are just a few of the attributes Leroy possessed. He never wavered in caring for his beautiful bride.
Leroy enjoyed caring for his cattle and preserving his family land. This is where he was bornandraised, andwherehe raised his family.
Leroy’s hobbies included reloading ammo and was an avid gun collector.
He loved nature. Fun fact about Leroy: he loved his pear trees, fig trees and pecan trees and if the squirrels, raccoons, turtles or possums that occupied space at 2262 CountyRoad120threatened them, then they didn’t have a fighting chance.
Leroy was a simple man he didn’t need material things to fill his life. The things that fulfilled him most and brought him the greatest joy was his precious love Cynthia, his kids, grand kids and friends.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Luke Frank Kazmir and Milady Vlasta Matcek Kazmir; his brother, Lawrence Kazmir; and sister, Millie Kazmir Greenfield.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia; his daughter, Lori Ann Kazmir; and son, Lukas Kazmir; and daughterin law, Dawn; and bonus daughter by heart, Joani Groce; grandsons, Colton Kazmir and Hunter Kazmir; granddaughter, Maddison Smith; and two bonus grandsons, Lamar Groce and Seth Groce; brother-in law and sister-in law, Roy and Rhonda Engelmann; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
