Broadus Jackson White, 95, passed away on September 12, 2024, in Caldwell.
Broadus “Jack” White was born May 31, 1929, in Boone, North Carolina, to Broadus Booth White and Mary Annie Howell.
He graduated from Newton High School.
He married Peggy Joyce Beard and then enlisted in the Army Air Corp at the age of 17. He was assigned to the 11th Airborne and served in the South Pacific theater during World War II.
After completion of his military service, he returned home to his lifetime love, Peggy. They had one child, Terry Lee White.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 61 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; his parents, Broadus Booth White and Mary Annie Howell White; siblings, Rachel White, Virginia White, James White; and grandson, Trevor White.
Jack is survived by his son, Terry White; two grandchildren, Jacquelynn Lumpkins and Larissa White; 10 greatgrandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at First Baptist Church, 255 North 9th Street, Somerville, Texas 77879.
