Burleson County has a storied tradition of patriotism and military service.
So Veterans Day and Memorial Day hold special significance here, where so many local residents have served in all branches of the U.S. military, with many sacrificing their lives.
At the Monday Veterans Day ceremony at the Caldwell Civic Center, a large gathering again paid tribute to that local tradition.
