A memorial service for William Daniel Hutchison, of Caldwell, was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Strickland Funeral Home, 530 TX-36, Caldwell, Texas 77836.
He was born on June 28, 1928, in Caryville, Florida, to Gus and Fannie Hutchison.
William married the love of his life, Mary Jane Martin, on March 26, 1949, while he was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, during World War II.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
A lifelong football fan, Bill played during his time in the Marines.
Bill attended the University of Miami, where he studied business and accounting and graduated in 1953.
William proudly served his country as a United States Marine, having enlisted after graduating high school in 1945.
William was an auditor by trade.
After retirement, William and Mary Jane split their time between the house in Houston and the farm in Caldwell.
He died on June 13, 2025.
He is survived by one daughter, one son, four grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
