A Celebration of Life for James “Jimmy” Edwin Janac, 75, of Hearne will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home, 802 S. Market St., Hearne, Texas 77859.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1949.
Jimmy was a beloved husband, Dad, Pa and friend to many.
After dedicating years of service to the U.S. Post Office, he retired and settled into the roles he loved most -- family man, ranch supervisor (of his own cows), critter wrangler and expert deer-stand philosopher.
Jimmy never met a stranger and always had a story ready -- often told with a grin, a laugh and a twinkle in his eye.
Whether he was checking on the cows, dogs, cats or sharing a quiet morning outdoors, he found joy in the simple, meaningful moments.
While Jimmy may have hung up his postal bag and boots, his stories and spirit will carry on through all who knew and loved him.
He died on July 19, 2025. He is survived by the love of his life, Shelley Harris-Janac; two children; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four siblings; three brothers- in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
