Emma Lee Kubin, 93, of Bryan, passed away peacefully December 20, 2025, surrounded by her children.
She was born on November 10, 1932, in the Cooks Point Community, Cooks Point.
Emma attended school in Burleson County grades 1-8 at the Cooks Point School. She went on to graduate from Caldwell High School in 1950.
In 1952, Emma married her high school sweetheart, Frankie T. Kubin, the beginning of a lifelong partnership of 72 years until his passing on August 22, 2024, a marriage rooted in love and faith.
They were blessed with three children, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Emma followed her husband to Aberdeen, Maryland, while he served in the U.S. Army, and later to Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In 1955, the family returned to Bryan.
Emma was a devoted and unwavering supporter of her husband, standing beside him through his military service, career, hobbies, and family life. When he decided to open Kubin Automotive, she was his greatest advocate and source of encouragement.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who poured her heart into her family. Family wasn’t just important to her. It was her world.
Beyond her family life, she was a dedicated and longtime employee of Texas A&M University.
She devoted 30 years of service, mostly with the Texas Real Estate Research Center.
She will forever be remembered for her compelling smile, her gentle and loving spirit, and the meals she made with love that brought everyone together and warmed both the heart and soul.
Emma found joy in the simple, meaningful things, tending her garden, keeping a beautiful home, sewing, baking, cooking, and lovingly serving her family. Her kitchen was always full, her table always welcoming, and there were always sweets by the dozen. Being in her home meant being cared for, fed well, and wrapped in her love.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Emma was a member of Cooks Point Brethren Church.
She will be remembered for her strong faith, her dedication to family and the love of all that knew her.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie T. Kubin; her parents, William and Lydia Odstrcil; sisters, Willie Mae Groce, Barbara Jean Rahnert; and brother, Sam Odstrcil.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Kubin (Rebecca), of Bryan, Kent Kubin of Bryan, and Leigh Greiner of College Station. Emma will be lovingly remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, and her deep devotion to her family. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome, seen, and deeply loved. Her legacy lives on through the many generations she cherished and faithfully nurtured.
We are forever grateful for her presence in our lives and for the countless memories shared at the farm and at our home. Most of all, we will forever hold close that final breakfast together, the “I love you,” the embrace, the kiss, and the last wave goodbye.
