GEORGIA BERAN

A Mass of a Christian Burial for Georgia Beran, 88, of Caldwell, was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell, with Father Melvin Dornak officiating.

Burial followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bryan.

Visitation was held from 4-6 p.m. On Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home. Rosary was recited at 6 p.m.

Mrs. Beran died on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, surrounded by loved ones.

Georgia Josephine Holubec was born on June 20, 1932, in Kurten, Texas, to Henry and Antonia (Kalas) Holubec.

She was a high school graduate and was married to the love of her life, Ernest E. Beran, on May 15, 1954.

Georgia was very proud of her Czech heritage and could read, write, and sing fluently in Czech.

She was a member of the Czech Heritage Society in Caldwell.

Georgia was also a devout Catholic and was very active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She was a member of St. Ann’s Altar Society and also taught Sunday school classes at St. Mary’s.

She was also active in the KJZT and held president and secretary offices in previous years.

Georgia held an Associate Membership in the KJT.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Georgia was an excellent cook and always prepared delicious meals for her family and made numerous kolaches and bread.

When she was younger, she was a seamstress for her family and worked on the farm and ranch.

Georgia enjoyed dancing, gardening, and being with her family.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest treasures.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Antonia (Kalas) Holubec; her brothers, Joe, Frank and John Holubec; and her sister, Valeria Pavelka.

Georgia is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Ernest Beran; her children, Edward Beran and wife, Bernadette, Stephen Beran and wife, Susan, Georgia Perry and husband, Michael, and Carolyn Motloch and husband, Anthony; her grandchildren, Jennifer and Mark Castañon, Deborah Beran, Marianne and Kenny Terrell, Dominic and Natalie Beran, Evan Beran, Katie Beran, Kellie Beran, Gregory and Jennifer Perry, Nathan Perry, and Everard and Elizabeth Perry; and her great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Ethan Castañon, Pearl and Dottie Beran, Cecilia and Luke Perry, and Elijah Perry.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, or charity of your choice.
