As of Tuesday, Aug. 8, Burleson County has had 29 days with high temperatures reaching at least 100 degrees.
The only reprieve was on July 28 when the temperature topped out at a measly 99 degrees.
July had 21 days of 100 or 100-plus degrees, making it the third hottest average high temperature of record at 101 degrees -- 5.6 degrees higher than what the county typically sees.
