David “Dave” Michael Houck, 79, of Caldwell, Texas passed away January 23, 2025.
He was born on, July 16, 1945, to Mayme and Roy Houck in Eldora, Iowa.
After Mayme’s passing, Roy married Ann Vick, and she lovingly raised him as her own.
Dave was an owner/operator, and later drove a truck for Roland Transport in Iowa.
On April 1, 1995, he married Linda Faust McAdams.
Shortly after, they moved to Texas where he was employed by Texas A&M University, and was affectionately known as the “Blind Man.”
Dave proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.
He was a hard-working man and after retiring several times, he found his passion at the Caldwell VFW #4458 where he served as Quartermaster, as well as many other roles. He was also a member of the American Legion Post.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wayne Vick; sister-in-law, Kathy Houck; and father-in-Law, Hubert Faust.
He is survived by, his wife, Linda Houck; siblings, Jim Houck and his wife, Betty, Kris Kosar and her husband, Russ, and Jon Houck; his sons, Nathan Houck and Earl Houck; his daughters, Cathy Clements and her husband, Wayne, Dawn Hickman, Jennifer Stelzig and her husband, Jim, Molly Boyd and her husband, Shannon. Dave is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
