The Caldwell Hornets lost their final two nondistrict games last week, 69-33 on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at home and 71-59 at Troy.
Against Brazos, the Hornets got off to a slow start, and the Cougars dominated the second and third quarters.
Caldwell trailed 18-12 in the first quarter and 38-19 at halftime.
Brazos went on a 23-0 run in the third quarter, and the Hornets rallied with a 14-7 run in the fourth.
