The Caldwell Hornets fell to Navasota last Friday 5-2 in their district opener at home.
The loss followed a 5-4 home win over Thrall on Tuesday, March 17, in their final non-district game.
Against Navasota, the Hornets surrendered three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, allowing the Rattlers to break out of a 2-2 tie, and had bases loaded when the game ended after a strikeout on a 3-2 count.
