Caldwell needed a breakout win, and they got it last Friday in a 4414 victory over Giddings at homecoming.
The Hornets, improving to 3-2-1 overall and unbeaten in their last three games, wanted to start district play 1-0, and that happened with a quick striking offense that finished with 457 total yards and a defense that bent at times but made stops when they had to.
