County sales tax revenues show decrease in August

Sales tax revenues showed a decrease for August 2025 from August 2024 for Burleson County in Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock’s latest monthly report.However, all cities within the county showed increases, according to the acting comptroller.

The annual Back-To-School Blast, hosted by the Burleson County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, took place on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the Burleson County Expo Center.

Commissioners propose 2025 tax rate, raises

The Burleson County commissioners court on Monday, Aug. 11, voted for a lower tax rate for 2025-26 while generating a similar amount of revenue.A tax rate of 44.785 cents per $100 was approved for publication. This is a decrease in the tax rate from 46 cents per $100 last year.

Burleson County Historical MuseumThe Burleson County Historical Museum is open every Friday from 1:30-4:30 p.m. The museum is located on the first floor of the Burleson County Courthouse. The museum will be closed on Burleson County holidays.
