Local youth win big at SPJST State Showcase

Burleson County youth stole the spotlight at the 2025 State Youth Showcase on July 26 in Temple. Collectively, SPJST Youth Burleson County won more than $1,500 in cash awards.

Blythe gets 20 years in drug delivery case

A 58-year-old Caldwell man was sentenced to 20 years in prison on July 21 on a first-degree felony drug delivery charge.James Edward Blythe was sentenced by District Judge John Winkelmann following a pre-sentence investigation and a July 2 presentence hearing.

Prisoner charged in escape attempt
