Commissioners select Rios as county sheriff

Bill Rios, who has served as chief deputy for the Burleson County Sheriff ’s Office for the past two years, has been appointed sheriff, succeeding Gene Hermes who died on May 31.

The Caldwell Men’s Lions Club will be holding its annual golf tournament on June 14, beginning at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.The fee is $125 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf, two mulligans and soft drinks and lunch.
